This industry runs in my family. My father is still working in oil and gas after more than forty years, and I grew up understanding what this work asks of a person long before I ever set foot on a site myself.
Over 20 years I worked offshore pipelay, iron ore in the Pilbara, oil and gas construction, and FIFO operations across heavy industry. Then I crossed to blue-collar recruitment — placing trades and engineers, and working inside the ATS screening process that most workers never see.
That crossing point is where Zillvahn was born. I've watched genuinely capable people get filtered out — not because they weren't good enough, but because their CV didn't speak the right language.
